Mrs. McIntyre's 2nd grade
My name is Mrs. Kathy McIntyre. I earned a BS from King's College, Wilkes-Barre, PA and an MEd from Wilmington University, DE. I am certified in Delaware, and I have an Illinois Professional Educator License with an endorsement for Kindergarten through Grade 9.
I taught at Holy Angels School in the Diocese of Wilmington for 18 years. Most of my teaching career has been educating ten year old students, but I have also taught in the Junior High. Like you, I value Catholic education. It is a wonderful place to grow in your faith, master academic skills, and develop interpersonal relationships. Respect for self, others, and God is nurtured in this environment. Each person has unique gifts and talents. Students are invited to take advantage of all learning opportunities to challenge, practice, and master new skills. My goal is to create a conducive environment in order for the students to achieve success.
My husband, Kevin, and I chose to educate our three children in Catholic schools. Brendan, Brigid, and Kerry received a solid foundation on which to build their Catholic Faith. They developed good study skills and were challenged academically. Each of them was prepared for high school, college, and their chosen professions. Two of them are pursuing an MBA and one just graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. I attribute their success to their academic foundation in Catholic schools! I relocated to Decatur when my husband accepted the Dean of Admission position at Millikin University.
When I am not creating lesson plans I like to exercise, read, and most of all spend time with my family!
